The City of Portland's Health and Human Services Department purpose statement is: To enhance the health and well being of the residents of Portland in collaboration with our community, state, and federal partners.

The Portland Community Free Clinic is one program the Department administers to achieve this purpose. Clinic volunteers provide free health care to those who could not otherwise afford it. The Department collaborates with Mercy Hospital in this endeavor; without the financial support of Mercy Hospital, the Clinic would not be possible.

Description:
The clinic is unique partnership of community volunteers, Mercy Hospital, and the Public Health Division, Health and Human Services Department, City of Portland. Volunteer medical professionals donate their time to see patients at the Clinic and in their private offices. Mercy Hospital provides Clinic patients with ancillary services, such as X-rays, blood tests, and emergency room coverage. The Public Health Division oversees the operation of this program.

Clinics take place Monday-Thursday from 6-9 pm and Thursday afternoons 1-3 pm.
