The mission of Herring Gut Learning Center is to educate students, teachers and the public about Maine's natural resources through aquaculture, environmental studies and research opportunities.

Description:
Herring Gut Learning Center offers educational programs and services at our Port Clyde facilities, area schools, in the field and at local events. These programs include summer day camps, school year alternative education programs, marine science outreach programs, summer lecture series, animation camps, and local special events. The majority of our programs focus on a hands-on in the field experience that provides participants with unique training, encouraging the preservation and economic development of coastal communities for present and future generations.

Directions:

Turn south on Rte 131 from Rte 1 in Thomaston. Travel approximately 15 miles south until you reach Port Clyde. Turn left on to Factory Road. We are the last building on the right.
