State, local, and non-profit organizations are working together to protect the Mount Agamenticus conservation region. These landowners manage the land in a sustainable way by balancing wildlife, water quality, and recreation.

Description:
The Mount Agamenticus Steering Committee consists of the major landowners in the Mount Agamenticus area. The committee was formed to reverse a trend of environmental degradation. They continue to work together to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat while improving visitor experiences on a sustainable trail network.

History:
Since 2000, conservation work at Mount Agamenticus has focused on protecting natural resources by managing recreational use, remediating trails, and educating the public. The conservation program has improved trail conditions, informed the public about low-impact recreation and improved habitat quality.
