The Bayside Neighborhood Association brings members of the Bayside community together.The BNA brings conversations about Bayside to Bayside in away that organizes, informs, and empowers residents, social service and other orginizations, local businesses and city representatives to form meaningful and long term partnerships. The BNA preserves and promotes safety, multi-cultrual diversity and carefully planned social, economic, and physical development in this unique urban community.

Description:
The BNA is a community stakeholder orginization that is totally volunteer run. We have outreach activiies with neighborhood children; multi cultural goups; partnerships with: City of Portland, Community Partnership for Protecting Children, Franklin Reclamation Authority,Community Policing. We serve on numerous city appointed commitees. We advocate for our very diverse community and are proactive in a wide range of areas affecting Bayside and the Portland Peninsula.

History:
Formed in 1998 the BNA has accomplished a number of succsseful projects and ongoing iniatives. The BNA established a community garden;launced the Baysdide Community Development Coporation to promote the creative economy; saved, moved and rehabed an 1857 historic house;coordinated free summer lunch and art programs for children; implemented lead safety measures including soil testing and abatement; publish THE BAYSIDER with 2,000 issues distributed bi-monthly;established Neighborhood Watch and Adopt-A- Block program;created Annual Black Frame Art Show and the Bayside world Market and Fair.
