Friendship, Inc., a sponsored ministry of Catholic Health Initiatives, in the tradition of the Presentation Sisters, continues the healing ministry of Jesus by providing homes and jobs for people with intellectual-developmental disabilities.

Description:
Friendship, Inc. provides homes to children and adults with intellectual-developmental disabilities in Fargo, West Fargo, Grafton, Park River, Grand Forks, and Cavalier, North Dakota. To adults, we teach job skills and work creatively to find a job in the community for each person we support. Children at our children's home are involved in the local school system. The main objective at Friendship, Inc. is to provide supports that meet the needs of the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.

Friendship, Inc. strives to involve the people we support in community events of every sort. People we support are fun to be with and simply need an adult to be with them to support them. The more volunteers we have the more opportunities people have to attend community events of their choice.

History:
Friendship, Inc. has a history that links it with the Presentation Sisters of Fargo as far back as 1897 when it was St. John's Orphanage. In 1961 it became Villa Nazareth. In 1974 it became Villa Nazareth doing business as Friendship Village. Now it is Friendship, Inc. As a provider of services to people with disabilities, Friendship, Inc. began in 1974 under the direction and guidance of Rev. Edward Tornow and the Presentation Sisters of Fargo. It began as a day program. It has grown today (2008) to an agency serving over 300 people in Fargo, West Fargo, Grafton, Park River, Grand Forks, and Cavalier, North Dakota. We provide homes for people and assist them in finding a job in the community that they will enjoy. Our main offices are located at 801 Page Drive in Fargo and 554 West 12th St. in Grafton, ND.
