Description:
CHARISM is a non-profit, neighborhood based agency that consists of a Family Center and Youth Enrichment Center. CHARISM seeks to build self-sufficiency in the families of the McCormick and Stonebridge Neighborhoods through quality programs, services and facilities. Programs include computer classes & professional development, sewing classes, English Language Learner & life skills classes for refugees/new Americans, an after school literacy program for kids in grades 1-6, in school tutoring for grades 7-12, food & nutrition programs, social events and a teen outreach program that provides social, educational and community service opportunities. Besides housing a police sub-station, the Stonebridge site has a Multi-cultural Hub that hosts several offices for refugee non profit groups and a meeting space.
