" The Mission of Clay County Social Services is to provide an array of services as established by Local, State, and Federal Law that promotes and enhances responsibility, safety, respect, and self-sufficiency for the persons served."
Description:
Clay County has a Volunteer Driver's Program that provides transportation to our clients to medical appointments, treatment centers, foster children to home visits, etc. Some transports are within the city others are outside of the county.
History:
We are a medium-large public (government) Social Services agency that has been in existence in Clay County, MN. since the mid 1930's. We were organized and developed as a result of the federal government's attempt to remedy the terrible social effects of the "Great Depression" of the 1930's. Our agency is part of the public social services delivery system in Minnesota that features state supervision and county administration of virtually all federal, state and county mandated and non-mandated social services.
