The Mission of the Great American Bike Race is to assist and strengthen families of children and adults with cerebral palsy and related disabilities.

Description:
The Great American Bike Race is a local fund raiser to provide necessary financial assistance to families of those with cerebral palsy and related disabilities that are unable to obtain this assistance otherwise, be that through insurance or other forms of assistance. The race is a local event, scheduled to be held in Bismarck,ND for the 11th year, and for the first time in Dickinson. The race consists of teams of 10 cyclists that compete against each other in 25 minute intervals with five minute breaks to change riders. You need only be present for your ride time, but are asked to show up 30 minutes prior to be ready to go when your turn arrives. You can be competitive, just have fun, or volunteer your services in many other ways to help stage this all day event. The event will run from 9:00 CDT to 2:15 CDT on April 14th, 2007 at the BSC Armory in Bismarck, ND and the West River Community Center in Dickinson, ND. Team captain and riders are needed along with others to keep mileage of participating teams, take the donation packets upon the riders arrival, assist with the lunch sales, and direct participants and spectators. History:
The Great American Bike Race was started in Bismarck 10 years ago by Dr. Kevin Murphy and has grown to an event that included over 50 ten rider teams, with each rider asked to raise at least $50 dollars for these wonderful kids and families with cerebral palsy and related disabilities. The Great American Bike Race has raised a total of over $116,000 for area recipients since it was started.
