The VITA/AARP programs assist elderly, low-income, disabled, and English as a Second Language taxpayers in filing, free of charge, their Federal income tax returns and to e-file those returns, again, free of charge. We are looking for volunteers to work in this capacity during the filing season in 2008.
Description:
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program was created in 1970 to assist the elderly, low-income, disabled and English as a Second Language taxpayers in filing their individual Federal/State income tax returns and do it free of charge. Electronic filing (e-file) was added at no charge. Since then, we have partnered with AARP to assist us in this effort, so we have a number of VITA and AARP sites throughout the F-M area and across the state of ND and MN
