United Way of Dickinson is one of 1,350 community-based United Way organizations across the country who are working to bring diverse people and resources together. Each is independent, separately incorporated and governed by local volunteers who have the ability to address the most urgent issues their communities face. United Way of Dickinson understands that you really want to make a difference right here in the greater Dickinson area. We want to help you do that.

Our experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to focus on the underlying causes of the most serious problem. Here in the greater Dickinson area, we are focused on critical issues like education, employment, housing, and health.

It takes the whole community working together to reach our goals in these area. So we bring together people form all across the community? people from government, schools, business, faith groups, financial institutions, voluntary and neighborhood associations, community development corporations, non-profits, and ordinary citizens. If it requires fund raising, mobilize resources beyond campaign contributions, going to City Hall, or just getting people to work together, that?s what we do.

Your United Way contribution goes to work bringing lasting change, right where you live. Because that?s what matters. To do this we will:

Energize and inspire people to make a difference Craft human care agendas within and across our communities Build coalitions around these agendas
Increase investments in these agendas by expanding and diversifying our own development efforts and supporting those of others Measure, communicate, and learn from the impact of our efforts Reflect the diversity of the communities we serve
