It is the purpose of the West Fargo Public Library to provide the residents of West Fargo, and other such persons that are entitled to use the library pursuant to any contractual arrangements made by the Library with a timely, comprehensive, reliable, and easily accessible collection of library materials.
History:
The West Fargo Public Library first opened its doors in June of 1971 in a rented facility on Sheyenne Street. In 1975 it moved to its own building at 401 7th Street East. In 1985, we added unto the building, increasing its size to 8100 square feet. In August of 2006, we opened our doors at our new home in the Clayton Lodoen Community Center. It has approximately 22,000 square feet. We expanded our services to the public as well. The Library now contains a West Fargo Historical Center which was started in 1988, a Homework Center and a Business Center both of which started in August 2006. We have several special collections including a Parenting Library, a scouting Library and a North Dakota Collection of rare and out-of-print materials.
