United Way of Cass-Clay brings people together to create lasting change that will improve lives.
Description:
United Way of Cass-Clay is a 501(c)(3) registered in Cass and Clay County. United Way of Cass-Clay raised more than $4,400,000 in 2008 to allocate to 67 health and human service programs in our community. United Way of Cass-Clay has several initiatives that are community driven and work with many groups in our community. The School Supply Drive held annually to help children in our community enter school ready to learn. In 2008, over 3,000 kids received a complete set of supplies prior to starting school. Day of Caring matches seniors with teams of volunteers from local businesses in our community. The volunteers spend the afternoon with senior from Cass and Clay Counties helping with household chores and preparing the house and yard for upcoming winter season. The Day of Caring is held the second Thursday in October each year. The Imagination Library is a new program at United Way of Cass-Clay that provides a free book a month for any child, age 0-5, in Cass and Clay counties registered with the program. There are currently approximately 8,000 children receiving books.
