To provide mobility, educational and recreational opportunities for children with mobility challenges and their families. Our vision is to enhance the quality of life for children with mobility challenges and their families. We aim to assist and empower these children to achieve their full potential.
Description:
Our program provides a weekly wheelchair sports program for children with mobility challenges ages 2-19. We also offer monthly recreational outings such as roller wheeling at Skateland, Bowling and arts and crafts. We offer courses in seated Creative Dance, Wheelchair yoga, Adaptive Art. We will be putting on a play (Wizard of Oz) on June 15. We also have a small equipment lending center. Families can check out walkers and standers free of charge for a trial usage for 3-6 weeks.
History:
HOPE, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)3 in July of 1992. In September, 2007, we implemented a sports and recreation program for children with mobility challenges. The goal of this program is to teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, communication and taking turns. We also hope to improve social skills, increase physical fitness and self-esteem in a fun, support environment.
