The purpose of this organization is to preserve and manage the Carnegie Center (formerly the Minot Public Library building) for appropriate use by individuals and groups, and to serve the arts and cultural community in the greater Minot area by providing educational and performing opportunities.

Description:
The mandate of Andrew Carnegie to "promote the advancement and furtherance of knowledge and understanding" is the motivation for programs (at least one per month, sometimes more) that promote the talents, abilities and interests of (mostly) local and regional artists, performers and craftspeople. Built using Carnegie funds, the Carnegie Center (listed in the National Register of Historic Places) opened in 1911, as the Minot Public Library.

History:
After many years of standing empty, a group of enthusiastic people from the city of Minot, decided this old building had too much history to be demolished and used as a parking lot. After many hours of work, they were able to see a vision of what a restored 1911 building was and what it could be used for. Renting the building out to individuals and groups for social, business and art-centered events, we are trying to restore to original.
