The mission of the Souris Valley Humane Society is to provide care for lost, abandoned or surrendered animals and will strive to place pets in humane environments. We will implement educational programs and services to promote responsible pet ownership. We will be advocates for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Description:
SVHS brings in approximately 60-70 stray, abandoned or surrendered each month. We provide veterinary checks, update shots and screen potential adopters in order to find suitable homes for healthy pets. We provide humane education to students in the Minot area and surrounding communities. We strive to educate the community on ways to control the pet population by offering spay/neuter assistance. On a monthly basis we participate in various fundraising activities and events.
History:
Established in 1977, SVHS has served the community as a location to adopt a pet.
