Volunteer Bridge is a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities on the UND campus and in the Greater Grand Forks community.
Description:
The staff members at Volunteer Bridge locate and post volunteer opportunities on the UND campus and in the Greater Grand Forks community. Students are able to access the data base of opportunities via the Volunteer Bridge web site and can choose which opportunities to they would like to serve. Volunteer Bridge also provides resources for students, faculty and staff about volunteer and service to community. Volunteer Bridge also co-sponsors with Directors of Volunteer Services (DOVS) two volunteer recruitment days each year, one at the beginning of fall semester and on at the beginning of spring semester.
History:
Volunteer Bridge was started in July, 2003 as a new service for students, faculty and staff at the University of North Dakota. A newsletter listing volunteer opportunities is sent to students every two weeks during the academic year. Volunteer opportunities are also posted on the Volunteer Bridge web page and are updated throughout the year. Presentations are made to departments, student groups and organizations who are interested in volunteering.
