To serve people with disabilities, to help them live as independently as possible within our community through recreation and education programs and activities.
Description:
We consider ourselves the "little north-end community center". We provide over 1200 recreational and educational activities throughout the year to nearly 800 individuals, 78% of whom have disabilities. One example of our programs are teams in community softball, bowling, darts and basketball programs. We are also are involved in the arts with people who have disabilities publically preforming in plays like "Grease"
History:
Founded in 1970 to provide alternative and safe activities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. We have expanded from serving 50 people to now serving over 800. Our attendance is now 15,000 individual visits a year. We are a non-profit
