Our mission is to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support. We see every terminally ill person having the opportunity to receive our care and people being enriched by our services.
Description:
Hospice of the Red River Valley, Grand Forks serves patients and families within an hours drive of our office. We serve patients that have a terminal illness and have chosen comfort care rather than curative care. Our wonderful staff and volunteers strive to provide a quality end-of-life experience for the individual that is dying, which includes a self-directed death process tailored to meet one's wishes, which embraces individual dignity, honors spirituality, ensures optimal pain management, and eases one's sense of burden or disharmony. We also work to provide a quality end-of-life experience for the individual's loved ones, which includes a less painful and more dignified and respectful dying process that supports their grief, honors their desire to be there for their loved one, assists them with education and resources, and provides optimal support and compassion for their experience.
History:
Hospice of the Red River Valley is a not-for-profit, community owned hospice that has been serving patients and families since 1981. We were the first hospice west of the Mississippi River to be Medicare certified in 1983. The Grand Forks office is the 6th office to open in the Valley and we opened in Oct 2005.
